- CONTENTS
48 Triple Tongue Twisters Cards & Instruction Cards.
- OBJECT OF THE GAME
The goal is to win the most ‘sets’ of the Triple Tongue Twisters cards. A set is three of a kind, such as three ‘Double Bubble Trouble’ cards and so on.
- SET UP
Shuffle the cards and deal six cards to each player. The remainder of the deck is placed face down on the table to form the stockpile.
- PLAY
- From your hand of cards choose a set to complete.
- Ask another player if they have any cards from that set.
- If they say “Yes,” they hand over all cards they have from that set, and you get another turn and may ask another (or the same) player for another card.
- If the answer is “No,” they tell you to “Go Twist,” and you draw a card from the stockpile to add to your hand. If the card drawn happens to be the card you asked for, you receive another turn. If not, your turn ends and play passes to the left.
- COMPLETING A TRIPLE TONGUE TWISTER SET
When you have completed a Triple Tongue Twisters set, say the set out loud, three times as fast as you can!
If you’re successful, keep your set in a pile near you for scoring.
If your tongue ties, place the set near the stockpile face up and you may try again on your next turn. If your tongue still ties, you lose your turn and the other players may also try winning the set by saying the Triple Tongue Twisters set out loud, three times fast, on their turn.
- WINNING THE GAME
The game continues until either a player runs out of cards or the draw pile runs out. The winner is the player who has the most Twister Trio points. Notice that some of the Tongue Twisters Trios are more difficult to pronounce and therefore receive 2 points a set, all other sets are counted as 1 point.
- Variations of Go Twist
- Rather than asking and receiving all the Twister cards from one Trio set, you must ask for a specific card. You must already hold at least one of the Twister Trio cards. For example, you say: ‘Jen, do you have Double Bubble Trouble’. If Jen has it, she says yes and then you will have to guess which one she has in her hand. If you guess correctly you collect that card and you get another turn. If she does not have the specific card you ask for, she says, ‘Go Twist!’ and you draw a card from the draw pile. If you happen to draw the Double Bubble Trouble card you get another turn; if not, turn passes to the left.
- If the draw pile runs out, you carry on playing until all the cards have been made into sets. Obviously, after the draw pile has run out there is no reason to say ‘Go Twist!’. If the person you asked does not have the card asked for, the turn passes on.
- When a player runs out of cards, the play does not end, but the player draws a new hand of 6 cards from the draw pile (or the whole draw if fewer than 6 cards remain there).
- After a player draws in a Go Twist unsuccessfully, the turn passes to player who was asked and said “Go Twist!” rather than to the next player to the left.
- There are various ways of scoring. For example, you may play a series of hands, scoring one point for each set you make. The game continues until someone wins by reaching an agreed target score – for example, 10 points. Notice That some of the Tongue Twisters Trios are more difficult to pronounce and therefore receive 2 points for each set acquired.
